I bought $1k of the Top 10 Cryptos on January 1st, 2018 (Oct Update - Month 34)

I bought $1k of the Top 10 Cryptos on January 1st, 2018 (Oct Update - Month 34)

EXPERIMENT - Tracking Top 10 Cryptos of 2018 - Month Thirty-Four - Down -74%
See the full blog post with all the tables here.
tl;dr
  • I'll give the first one to find the four hidden cultural references some moons.
  • What's this all about? I purchased $100 of each of Top Ten Cryptos in Jan. 2018, haven't sold or traded. Did the same in 2019 and 2020. Learn more about the history and rules of the Experiments here.
  • October - BTC and Litecoin had a very good month and crypto as a whole did much better than traditional markets.
  • Overall since Jan. 2018 - Bitcoin still far ahead. And, for the first time since I started this experiment back in Jan. 2018, I'm happy to report: BITCOIN HAS BROKEN EVEN!!!
  • Combining all three three years, Top Ten cryptos is tied with the S&P if I'd taken a similar approach.

Month Thirty Four – Down 74%

2018 Top Ten Summary for October
After an all-red September, it’s nice to see a bit of green this month. Thanks mainly to Bitcoin, the 2018 Top Ten Portfolio finished October with modest gains overall.
But, STOP THE PRESS, what is that!??! Green in the “Total % Change” column!?!? Yes indeed: for the first time in 34 monthly updates, I’m happy to announce that BTC ended October worth more than the price I paid for it on the 31st of December, 2017. Although only up +4% overall, it’s been a long road: this small 2018 Top Ten victory is to be celebrated.

Question of the month:

In October, this global payment service announced it will support cryptocurrency buying, selling, and shopping through its platform.

A) Paypal
B) Square
C) Stripe
D) Alipay
Scroll down for the answer.

Ranking and October Winners and Losers

Rank of 2018 Portfolio - 40% of cryptos are drop outs
Not much movement this month, a bit strange for the 2018 Top Ten Portfolio. Only three cryptos shifted positions in October: NEM’s Top Twenty hopes seem to be fading fast (it dropped from #22 to #24); XLM picked up one spot (#18 to #17); and, much to the relief of long time crypto-ers with a soft spot for the silver to BTC’s gold, Litecoin was able to stop its freefall, rebounding back into the Top Ten nicely, picking up four spots (#12 to #8). Welcome back LTC.
Drop outs: After thirty-four months of this experiment 40% of the cryptos that started 2018 in the Top Ten have dropped out. NEM, Dash, IOTA, and Stellar have been replaced by Binance Coin, Tether, LINK, and most recently, DOT.
October Winners – For the second month in a row, this month’s W goes to Bitcoin, up +25% for the month. Litecoin finishes the month in second place, up 17% and climbing back into the Top Ten.
October Losers – For the second month in a row, this month’s L goes to NEM, down -16%. IOTA finished down -11%, the second worst performer of the month.
For the overly competitive nerds, below is a tally of the winners of the first 34 months of the 2018 Top Ten Crypto Index Fund Experiment. Bitcoin still has the most monthly wins (9) and Cardano in second place with 6 monthly wins. With another poor performance in October, NEM now has 8 monthly losses.
Every crypto has at least one monthly win and Bitcoin is unique as the only cryptocurrency that hasn’t lost a month yet since January 2018.
Ws and Ls - One coin to rule them all

Overall update – BTC far ahead and breaks even, ETH in distant second place. Dash in last place.

So here we are: point break even. On the 31st of December, 2017, I bought $100 worth of BTC (0.008) at $13,170. Nearly three years later that same 0.008 is worth $13,665. Although only 4%, it’s a symbolic victory and one that’s been a long time coming. The initial investment of $100 thirty-three months ago is now worth about $83. A distant second place, Ethereum is down -45% since January 2018.
At this point in the 2018 Top Ten Experiment, Dash is at the bottom. It has lost -93%. The initial $100 invested in Dash 34 months ago is now worth $6.52.
The 2018 Portfolio welcomed LTC back Top Ten in October. September 2020 was the first time since I started the experiment back in January 2018 that Litecoin had fallen out of the Top Ten.

Total Market Cap for the entire cryptocurrency sector:

Total market cap - back over the $400B mark for the first time in over 2.5 years
The crypto market gained about $50B in finished October over the psychologically important $400B mark, a level we haven’t seen since the end of April 2018.

Bitcoin dominance:

BitDom - growing
After a few months of dipping, BitDom shot back up to 63.1% in October. A big move, but for context, it was up over 68% earlier in 2020.
For even more context: since the beginning of the experiment, the range of Bitcoin dominance has been quite wide: we saw a high of 70% BitDom in September 2019 and a low of 33% BitDom in February 2018.

Overall return on $1,000 investment since January 1st, 2018:

2018 Top Ten ROI
The 2018 Top Ten Portfolio gained about $25 bucks in October. Despite BTC breaking even, the portfolio overall is still struggling: if I cashed out today, the $1000 initial investment would return about $264, down -74% from January 2018.
Down -74% sounds bad (and it is), but the overall direction lately has been encouraging and a nice break from the negative eighties. Here’s a look at the ROI over the life of the experiment, month by month, for some context:

2018 Top Ten Monthly ROI - Red, red, red
The absolute bottom was -88% back in January 2019.
So the Top Ten Cryptos of 2018 are down -76%. What about the 2019 and 2020 Top Tens? Let’s take a look:
So overall? Taking the three portfolios together, here’s the bottom bottom bottom line:
After a $3000 investment in the 2018, 2019, and 2020 Top Ten Cryptocurrencies, my combined portfolios are worth $‭3,537‬ ($264+ $1,660 +$1,613).
That’s up about +18% for the three combined portfolios, compared to +11% last month.
Here’s a table to help visualize:
Combined 2018, 2019, 2020 ROI
That’s a +18% (actually +17.9%) gain by investing $1k on whichever cryptos happened to be in the Top Ten on January 1st for three straight years.
But surely you’d do better if you went all in on one crypto, right?
Depends on your choice. Let’s take a look:
Three year club: BTC and ETH tied
Only five cryptos have started in the Top Ten for all three years: BTC, ETH, XRP, BCH, and LTC. Knowing what we know now, which one would have been best to go all in on?
As of this month, it’s basically a tie between BTC and ETH. Both are up +121%, (although BTC is technically $21 ahead of ETH).
So: with $3,000 USD, dropped in $1k chunks on January 1st three times in a row since New Year’s Day 2018, you would be up +121%, by going all in on either BTC or ETH.
The worst choice? At this point in the experiment, that would be XRP, down -32%.

Comparison to S&P 500:

I’m also tracking the S&P 500 as part of the experiment to have a comparison point with other popular investments options. The S&P 500 Index continued its fall from an all time high in August. It ended October up +22% since January 2018.

Monthly S&P since January 2018
The initial $1k investment into crypto on January 1st, 2018 would have been worth about $1220 had it been redirected to the S&P.
But what if I took the same invest-$1,000-on-January-1st-of-each-year approach with the S&P 500 that I’ve been documenting through the Top Ten Crypto Experiments? Here are the numbers:
  • $1000 investment in S&P 500 on January 1st, 2018 = $1220 today
  • $1000 investment in S&P 500 on January 1st, 2019 = $1300 today
  • $1000 investment in S&P 500 on January 1st, 2020 = $1010 today
Taken together, here’s the bottom bottom bottom line for a similar approach with the S&P:
After three $1,000 investments into an S&P 500 index fund in January 2018, 2019, and 2020, my portfolio would be worth $3,530.
That is up +17.6% since January 2018. Compared to a +17.9% gain of the combined Top Ten Crypto Experiment Portfolios. You can compare against five individual coins (BTC, ETH, XRP, BCH, and LTC) by using the table above if you want.
Gentlemen and lady (hello lady, I see you back there) we have a tie.
Well, not quite a tie, crypto is up .3% so crypto gets the win:
Three year S&P vs. Top Ten Crypto Experiments Combined ROI
That’s seven monthly victories for the S&P vs. three monthly victories for crypto. The largest gap so far was a 22% difference in favor of the S&P in June.

Conclusion:

October saw a bit of divergence between crypto and the S&P: crypto up, S&P down. That separation is nice to see when it often seems that crypto moves in tandem with traditional markets. Two more months left in the year. What more will 2020 throw at us? And how will crypto and traditional markets respond?
Thanks for reading and for supporting the experiment. I hope you’ve found it helpful. I continue to be committed to seeing this process through and reporting along the way. Feel free to reach out with any questions and stay tuned for progress reports. Keep an eye out for my parallel projects where I repeat the experiment twice, purchasing another $1000 ($100 each) of two new sets of Top Ten cryptos as of January 1st, 2019 then again on January 1st, 2020.

And the Answer is…

A) Paypal
Paypal announced in October that it will allow customers to buy, sell, and hold Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Customers will also be able to pay with crypto at 26 million merchants on its network starting in early 2021.

The next XVG? Microcap 100x potential actually supported by fundamentals!

What’s up team? I have a hot one for you. XVG returned 12 million percent in 2017 and this one reminds me a lot of it. Here’s why:
Mimblewimble is like Blu-Ray compared to CD-ROM in terms of its ability to compress data on a blockchain. The current BTC chain is 277gb and its capacity is limited because every time you spend a coin, each node needs to validate its history back to when it was mined (this is how double spending is prevented). Mimblewimble is different - all transactions in a block are aggregated and netted out in one giant CoinJoin, and only the current spending needs to be verified. This means that dramatically more transactions can fit into a smaller space, increasing throughput and lowering fees while still retaining the full proof of work game theory of Bitcoin. These blockchains are small enough to run a full node on a cheap smartphone, which enhances the decentralization and censorship resistance of the network.
The biggest benefit, though, is that all transactions are private - the blockchain doesn’t reveal amounts or addresses except to the actual wallet owner. Unlike earlier decoy-based approaches that bloat the chain and can still be data mined (XMR), Mimblewimble leaves no trace in the blockchain, instead storing only the present state of coin ownership.
The first two Mimblewimble coins, Grin and Beam, launched to great fanfare in 2019, quickly reaching over $100m in market cap (since settled down to $22m and $26m respectively). They are good projects but grin has infinite supply and huge never-decreasing emission, and Beam is a corporate moneygrab whose founding investors are counting on you buying for their ROI.
ZEC is valued at $568m today, despite the facts that only 1% of transactions are actually shielded, it has a trusted setup, and generating a confidential transaction takes ~60 seconds on a powerful PC. XMR is a great project but it’s valued at $1.2b (so no 100x) and it uses CryptoNote, which is 2014 tech that relies on a decoy-based approach that could be vulnerable to more powerful computers in the future. Mimblewimble is just a better way to approach privacy because there is simply no data recorded in the blockchain for companies to surveil.
Privacy is not just for darknet markets, porn, money launderers and terrorists. In many countries it’s dangerous to be wealthy, and there are all kinds of problems with having your spending data be out there publicly and permanently for all to see. Namely, companies like Amazon are patenting approaches to identify people with their crypto addresses, “for law enforcement” but also so that, just like credit cards, your spending data can be used to target ads. (A) Coinbase is selling user data to the DEA, IRS, FBI, Secret Service, and who knows who else? (B) What about insurance companies raising your premiums or canceling your policy because they see you buying (legal) cannabis? If your business operates using transparent cryptocurrency, competitors can data mine your customer and supply chain data, and employees can see how much everyone else gets paid. I could go on, but the idea of “I have nothing to hide, so what do I care about privacy?” will increasingly ring hollow as people realize that this money printing will have to be paid by massive tax increases AND that those taxes will be directly debited from their “Central Bank Digital Currency” wallets.
100% privacy for all transactions also eliminates one HUGE problem that people aren’t aware of yet, but they will be: fungibility. Fungibility means that each coin is indistinguishable from any other, just like paper cash. Why is this important? Because of the ever-expanding reach of AML/KYC/KYT (Anti-Money Laundering / Know Your Customer / Know Your Transaction) as regulators cramp down on crypto and banks take over, increasingly coins become “tainted” in various ways. For example, if you withdraw coins to a mixing service like Wasabi or Samourai, you may find your account blocked. (C) The next obvious step is that if you receive coins that these chainalysis services don’t like for whatever reason, you will be completely innocent yet forced to prove that you didn’t know that the coins you bought were up to no good in a past life. 3 days ago, $100k of USDC was frozen. (D) Even smaller coins like LTC now have this problem, because “Chinese Drug Kingpins” used them. (E) I believe that censorable money that can be blocked/frozen isn’t really “your money”.
Epic Cash is a 100% volunteer community project (like XVG and XMR) that had a fair launch in September last year with no ICO and no premine. There are very few projects like this, and it’s a key ingredient in Verge’s success (still at $110m market cap today despite being down 97% since the bubble peak) and why it’s still around. It has a small but super passionate community of “Freemen” who are united by a belief in the sound money economics of Bitcoin Standard emission (21m supply limit and ever-decreasing inflation) and the importance of privacy.
I am super bullish on this coin for the following reasons:
Because it doesn’t have a huge marketing budget in a sea of VC-funded shitcoins, it is as-yet undiscovered, which is why it’s so cheap. There are only 4 Mimblewimble-based currencies on the market: MWC at $162m, BEAM at $26m, GRIN at $22m, and EPIC at $0.4m. This is not financial advice and as always, do your own research, but I’ve been buying this gem for months and will continue to.
This one ticks all the boxes for me, the only real problem is that it’s hard to buy much without causing a huge green candle. Alt season is coming, and coins like this are how your neighbor Chad got his Lambo back in 2017. For 2021, McLaren is a better choice and be sure to pay cash so that it doesn’t get repossessed like Chad!

Drakon is world best exchange

Hey guys, as we know that from couple of some year people trying to bring all their investing money and goods to the Internet world.traders and investor, investor, buyer, and seller now his idea to invest, buy and sell online. People adopt the crypto currency, when bitcoin pumps in 2017. Since the introduction of bitcoin, cryptos have received considerable media attention worldwide, fuelled by the sharp appreciation of major cryptocurrencies like bitcoin compared to regular currencies, and the fluctuations therein, the close links they have with the shadow economy. Now every company have an idea to release their own token.some countries has also release their crypto coins. So many crypto exchanges has been discovered where people can trade and exchange their coins. But still there is some drawback in these exchange like slow transaction system, not secure at all, high fee. So today i am introducing you a very great decentralized platform called Draken in short DRK which fulfill all the cypto exchange requirement with their great features.
Introduction to DRK: DRK is world best decentralized system which combines all previous blockchain technology to one place by using a separate protocol retaining the key element of DEX. The main goal of the DRK platform is to provide secure system, low fee, fast transaction system and to combine all dex technology to one place (drakon group system.
Why DRK? As we know that decentralize system is one of the beat system in block chain with its some enhanced features but still needed some attention because External Factors,High Cost of operation, Problems of Coordination Are some disadvantages which need some improvement. So DRK decentralized system bring some advance feature to fulfill all these drawbacks.DRK has low fee, very high performance to allow thousand of transactions in seconds, cross chain and experience control. These feature allow investor to invest freely without any risk trading. These are some advantage this why i refer every online investor to invest secure in DRK.
Some advance featurea of Drakon: Low Fee: Every single trader want that he trade with no or little fee.but fee of the exchanges is so high.and very worst point is that you have yo pay fee in eth or btc which is so hard for users if they have only one token reward.here is some fee margin of big exchanges Bybit TAKER 0.075% MAKER -0.025% WITHDRAWAL 0.0005
Kucoin TAKER 0.10% MAKER 0.10% WITHDRAWAL 0.0004 btc
Binance TAKER 0.10% MAKER 0.10% WITHDRAWAL 0.0004 B
Fee of DRK Dex is almost nothing.you to pay only exchange fee of the coin which you want to trade it. DRK decided to prioritize user interest,as a result fee fee will be minimized.in this way maintain system great.
Transaction limit. Transaction speed of etherium network is very slow as it can only process 15-20 transaction/second. DRK provided facilities that every second 1 thousand transaction can be processed instant with DRK chain mainnet.
Cross chain: Almost all dex platform chooses etherium network but etherium network list only exist token. DRK have a modern own protocol which communication it with other block chain ,there every new token can be added here.
These are the main features which used by DRK platform to grow community great.
DRK Gaming: This is big entertainment for user,DRK provided a gaming zone for user name DrakinX where user make lot of money by just gaming. Gaming system is so good, there are two type of option 1: manual 2: AI trading There are 4 type of coin which you can stake 1: DRK. 2: ETH 3: dBtc 4: vbtc In " manual " you have a 20 second to buy+50+100 + 1000 or + 5000 and then an aero will go upward for leverege and will be busted at any leverage x,as you can see in picture.

    • In regards to Kava, users deposit collateral (like BNB) in order to "mint" USDX - which ultimately represents the loan that the user will receive.

03-27 13:34 - 'AiOption (AiOption) receives tens of millions of dollars in financing to help the blockchain empower the financial industry' (self.Bitcoin) by /u/jackzhang0 removed from /r/Bitcoin within 3-13min

'''
In 2020, due to the dual impact of the coronary pneumonia epidemic and the plunge of US oil stocks, the economic situation in the Asia-Pacific region is very grim. Within a week, U.S. stocks melted twice, and crypto digital assets such as Bitcoin plummeted. This seems to indicate that the direction of global financial markets in 2020 will be extremely unstable. In this situation, traditional financial investment methods are not the most valuable means of financial management. AiOption Blockchain Binary Options Platform provides a new direction for financial investment, predicting the rise and fall of encrypted digital assets such as Bitcoin in a fixed period of time to obtain income.
Recently, AiOption, a professional blockchain binary options platform, announced that it has received tens of millions of dollars in financing. This round of financing was led by the Japanese consortium and the Thai royal family. This round of financing is an important milestone in the continuous increase of market competitiveness. At the same time, AiOption has become the largest platform in China to provide blockchain binary options transactions.

[link]1
This round of financing will help the platform to further strengthen the innovation and research and development of original key core technologies, consolidate the company's leading edge in the binary options industry of the blockchain, and help the company continue to expand more application scenarios and accelerate the blockchain's empowerment of the financial industry. In order to further improve the product experience, we will also introduce local special versions based on user habits in different countries and regions. As soon as it entered the promotion in the Asia-Pacific region in 2020, there were more than 100,000 registered users in the first week, achieving very good results. The platform will also launch more promotion activities in combination with local characteristics. The top investment groups such as the Thai Royal Family and the Japanese Consortium gave AiOption a high rating. It is indeed a black technology star product known as Israeli fintech innovation.
AiOption (AiOption) is a professional crypto asset options trading platform with a solid foundation of blockchain technology. It has achieved significant R & D results in distributed network and blockchain security. It has worked closely with more than 8 countries to provide a very simple way to predict the price fluctuations of encrypted digital assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. The platform collects price data of multiple trading symbols from multiple selected trusted data sources (such as Binance, coinbase, bittrex, huobi, and some other well-known global exchanges) to merge together, and uses intelligent algorithms to identify and Filter abnormal price data and calculate the final price index for a single coin. Use more innovative and fair ways for players to predict the price of crypto digital assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

[link]2
Safe, efficient, and high-performance systems
AiOption has top risk control, anti-fraud and segregated witness technologies, comprehensively formulates a security policy system, multi-level risk identification control, and multiple security defense methods. The high-frequency transaction matching engine steadily supports large amounts of data, high performance, and high concurrency. It adopts a distributed architecture, and the market and deep data come online at a fast speed. The front-end adopts a firewall anti-attack mechanism and the back-end adopts a hidden and discrete deployment.
AiOption's binary options trading system is equipped with flexible and convenient trading modes and an extremely secure system to ensure the safety of user assets.
Fair and simple, simple and convenient transaction model
On a general options platform, the bet price is real-time Bitcoin price and can be easily manipulated by the platform. When the player wagers the Bitcoin price on the platform, the wager price is the initial Bitcoin price for each round of the game, and manipulation is not allowed! Ensure fair and fair transactions, convenient user transactions, and easy to master gameplay.
  1. The operation is simple. You only need to judge the rise and fall of encrypted digital assets after 90 seconds.
  2. The rate of return is fast, and the single-round profit can be settled in 90 seconds.
  3. Transaction time is unlimited, 90 seconds matching, non-stop trading 7 days and 24 hours.
  4. There is no handling fee, and no dealer control disk.
At the same time, the platform has a unique function of depositing money and managing money. By depositing a certain amount of USDT, excellent players and excellent teams can obtain fixed high returns, with a maximum return of four times!
For many years, AIoption has always adhered to the concept of blockchain technology to empower the financial industry, and has concentrated on polishing products and application scenarios. The top-level blockchain team has achieved certain results in the blockchain and financial fields.
Through this financing, we will continue to focus on the development of blockchain technology and continue to develop in the large field of blockchain binary options services. AiOption's vision is to promote the development of blockchain binary options services, provide customers with better services, and continue to maintain its leading position in the domestic blockchain binary options industry.

Welcome to Komodo. A Beginner's Guide.

Overview: the basics of the Komodo ecosystem.

1. Privacy: a mighty privacy coin that protects your data and rewards you 5% annually.

What is a privacy coin? Privacy coins implement various protocols to create a layer of privacy between blockchain transactions. This can be utilized to prevent blockchain traceability or provide different levels of privacy for data stored on the blockchain.

What is Jumblr? A decentralized cryptocurrency shuffler that allows your transactions to become incognito and protects them from being traced through a time or knapsack attack. It adds a privacy layer to your transactions because after your coins are Jumbled, an analysis of the amounts that went in or times that they came out is futile. This function is unique to Komodo and does not require third parties.

2. Security: a secure and robust consensus mechanism called delayed Proof of Work (dPoW) that protects your funds and our ecosystem. This unique technology uses a notarization process to create a backup of the entire Komodo blockchain onto the Bitcoin blockchain thereby increasing security and resilience. This happens roughly every ten minutes. The backups are then saved (notarized) onto the Bitcoin blockchain because it has the highest hashrate available. So even if Komodo suffered a devastating attack (which is extremely unlikely), the Komodo blockchain would merely revert to the most recently notarized copy of the chain. If Bitcoin loses superiority in terms of hashrate the dPOW mechanism can be switched to another blockchain on demand. Hence, Komodo is the most flexible platform to build on and one of the most secure.

What is hashrate? A proof of work blockchain needs a lot of calculations. Hashrate is the way it is measured. The amount of data hashed in a given time by a machine. It is a unit used to define the amount of calculations made by a machine. When you add all the machines together you have the hashrate for that blockchain (here’s a great chart that illustrates it). It's like a river of transactions and the broader and wider it is, the harder it is to manipulate it.

Hashrate historical chart: https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/hashrate-btc-eth-bch-ltc.html#1y.

3. Freedom from middlemen: a decentralized exchange (DEX) called BarterDEX, with a fully working order book, powered by our world-class atomic swap technology. This reduces risk and transaction fees. Komodo’s atomic swaps work between Bitcoin protocol and ERC20 tokens which means we can support over 95% of all the tokens and coins in existence. Our decentralized exchange offers ‘liquidity power-ups’ which mean that you can place more than one buy order with the same funds (i.e. pick your top 5 coins and if any of them drop below 50% of their value you’ll buy it and cancel the other orders at the same time) which means your funds have a greater value! On top of all that, Komodo’s DEX has fast transaction speeds and super low transaction fees (0.15%). You can find live BarterDEX and Komodo Stats here: https://dexstats.info/index.php.

What are atomic swaps? Atomic swaps are a method of trading cryptocurrencies peer-to-peer, directly from one blockchain to another, without the need to trust a third-party. Here is a good article to read that will take you about 11 minutes ‘Atomic Swaps & Etomic Swaps, Explained in Plain English’ written by John Westbrook on Medium.

Why do YOU want an exchange to be decentralized? A centralized exchange is a third party and requires you to trust them with your funds. If they’re hacked you’re at risk of losing your funds. Centralized exchanges also require you to trade between pillars (i.e. BTC or USDT) which can involve higher transaction fees and a greater number of trades than necessary to swap the token you have for the one you want (i.e. DOGE sell to BTC to buy KMD is two trades when all you really want is DOGE to KMD).

4. Independence: decentralized ICO crowdfunding and scalability solutions for blockchain startups.
You can think of a blockchain as a motorway and if you build a project on the same blockchain as other projects you will be impacted by how well the other drives behave, or by the motorway introducing tolls, or you could suffer from congestion (i.e. if you’re familiar with how crypto kitties caused ETH transaction fees to greatly increase and transaction speeds to slow down then you’ll understand multiple projects on one blockchain cause a scalability and independence problem ).
Komodo offers parallel chains which mean a project or decentralized ICO is given its own chain which uses Komodo’s technology. This also solves the scalability issue because using the motorway analogy we can simply open more lanes for a project with a high amount of congestion. This is possible because of the dPOW notarisation. It allows projects to launch completely independent blockchains.
Every independent blockchain created on Komodo Platform is automatically integrated into Komodo’s BarterDEX (DEX) which means they have instant access to liquidity for their token and their community can buy and trade immediately. If you compare this to a centralized exchange where projects are often met with a list of onerous demands and fees to be listed and risk being delisted then you’ll understand how important this is for any project especially smaller teams and decentralized apps (dAPPS).

5. Universal Wallet: the Agama Wallet is a universal secure, multi-coin wallet to store funds on and claim the 5% reward for your $KMD tokens. There is also a paper wallet available if you would prefer a cold storage option for those who want to maximize their security.

Getting Started

What is Waltonchain?

The Waltonchain Foundation is building a cross-industry, cross-data sharing platform by integrating Blockchain with the Internet of Things through self-developed RFID Chips with intellectual property rights.
The in-house developed Waltonchain RFID chips integrate a proprietary, genuine random number generator and an asymmetric encryption logic and hardware signature circuit, all of which are patent-protected.
The combination of self-developed RFID chips and the Waltonchain blockchain will ultimately achieve the interconnection of all things and create a genuine, believable, traceable businessmodel with totally shared data and transparent information.
Waltonchain will unfold a new era of the Value Internet of Things (VIoT).

coin aelf and BYOB

4696/5000 It is undeniable that the future of the Internet seems very promising. Aelf is a block site that is converting the potential of the Internet to a higher level, by introducing decentralized cloud computing. The main objective of the project is the creation of a 'linux bionetwork' for block chains.
How does it work To achieve its objectives, Aelf will have to design a unique operating system with the ability to counteract disadvantages such as scalability, uneven distribution of resources and the lack of predefined consensus algorithms. So that it can sufficiently counteract these setbacks, Aelf comes equipped with the following characteristics:
Side chains The system has a core chain and several side chains, creating a biorred. In addition, Aelf can connect with blockchain structures such as Bitcoin and Ethreum via an adapter. The different side chains are responsible for handling a problem or a specific commercial transaction individually. Therefore, this is an excellent move for the structure of Aelf that is based mainly on the satisfaction of commercial needs, and this follows the distribution of the individual mandates to the different chains that improves the processing prowess.
Records The central chain receives sidechain tokens to index its data, as a sort of operating rate. The amount of chips that a side chain needs to pay is determined by its contribution to the network; the more you supply to the system, the less you pay.
Consensus Protocol This will be achieved through the application of the delegated acceptance test (DPoS). The nodes of Aelf assume the responsibility of registering the data of several side chains and in the central chain. The owners of Aelf token (ELF) select the mining nodes by voting. Then, the chosen nodes determine the process of dissemination of the mining benefits to the rest of the nodes and actors.
Supply of Aelf Despite not having an open ICO, the project obtained 55,000 with a sale. This involved private investors such as AlphaBit, Blocktower, and FBG Capital, among others. Currently, ELF chips in circulation are those that were available for purchase in that sale. However, there is an aggregate offer of 1,000 million ELF chips, but only 25% was released during the sale of said chips.
The team behind him Aelf can be defined as "the hidden treasure" that has been off the radar for too long. In part, this is because, unlike other ICOs, the team did not carry out a public campaign and, therefore, people, including investors, still do not know what it is about.
Despite this, the team has obtained significant investment support from major players such as Draper Dragon, Blockchain Ventures and even FGB Capital. However, it is interesting to note that the project rejected potential investors within two weeks of its symbolic sale because it reached its target of 55,000ETH sooner than expected.
Ma Haobo, former founder and CEO of Hoopox, is also the founder of Aelf with an advisory committee composed of;
J. Michael Arrignton, the original developer and CEO of TechCrunch Zhou Shouji, founding partner of FGB Capital
Operations and Purchase Aelf entered the market in December 2017; after the hype among the investors who discovered it, its price went up from only 0.87 dollars (valued at 0.000068 BTC) to 2.61 dollars (approximately 0.000165BTC). Unfortunately, because its sale was not public and most people did not know it, it rather `disappeared 'once it was available in the exchanges.
You can buy ELF tokens from Binance or Huobi, which are exchanged between BTC and ETH by ELF. Huobi also facilitates USDT exchanges.
Wallet ELF is stored in wallets compatible with ERC20 like MyEtherWallet or Exodus. To access the enhanced security features, you should explore the Ledger Nano S.
conclusion Most entrepreneurs believe that blockchain technology has an immense capacity to transform the world. However, for this to happen, the drawback of the scalability that governs most of the block chains would have to be corrected. For example, Ethereum, however popular, can only process 15 transactions in a second. Therefore, the innovation of Side Chain, the configuration that Aelf is constructing so meticulously, will definitely renew the structure of the Internet that we know now.

Atomic Swap with USDT: Swap Online solution in two hundred lines of code

Atomic Swap with USDT: Swap Online solution in two hundred lines of code

On the eve of the release on the mainnet, the team of the cross-chain wallet Swap Online is publishing a research study and the code of the atomic swapusing USDT.

USD Tether — the equivalent of the dollar on Omni Layer

The solution described above with the protocol “over” the Bitcoin network gave life to one of the most controversial cryptocurrency projects of the last two years — Tether. Tether (symbol Tether — ₮, ticker — USDT) is a hybrid cryptocurrency with a rate binding to one US dollar. Moreover, according to the assurances of Tether Limited, the issuer of the given tokens, the “binding” is to be understood literally, as each purchased token of USDT corresponds to one US dollar available at the disposal of the company.
If we take the three largest exchanges based on their daily turnover of transactions at the time of writing (Binance, OKEx and HuObi), and then track the five most popular trading pairs for each, we will encounter USDT in 13 out of 15 cases.

USDT — the token with the largest capitalization in the world.

All this generates great community interest in faster, safer and cheaper solutions for exchanging Tether into other currencies. Obviously, such a solution could be atomic swaps, which are instant, decentralized cross-chain exchanges. The Komodo laboratory, the main headliners of this technology, who presented it in the autumn of 2017, reported on the successful exchange of KMD to USDT carried out on the BarterDEX platform, Komodo’s own exchanger.
https://preview.redd.it/z7tx3cv0p9g11.png?width=597&format=png&auto=webp&s=f0944434f691d69ae45c5b80e00fed2736423f7a
At the same time, according to our data, the developers of Komodo made a swap on the ERC20-a version of Tether, which is only available in 3% of cases. Approximately 60 million USDT from global turnover can thus be exchanged using this method, which, obviously, cannot be considered as a solution to the problem. Striking examples of imperfections of existing solutions can be found even on Etherscan.

This fall, the team of Swap Online is ready to present an atomic swap with Tether. And here’s how we did it.

How Omni conducts transactions

To carry out the Omni transaction, a user needs to create a regular Bitcoin transaction-transfer of 546 satoshi (minimum) with an additional output storing payload using the OP_RETURN op-code. An example of such a transaction. The payload is a mandatory part of any Omni transaction, as it is a sequence of bytes containing all the necessary information about the transaction.

Let us consider what information is stored in the payload itself

transaction marker — 4 bytes, the mandatory part of any Omni payload is always equal to 0x6f6d6e69 — ASCII code omni. If the first 4 bytes of the sequence are not equal to 0x6f6d6e69, then this sequence is not a payload of Omni.
version — 2 bytes, an analog version of the transaction in Bitcoin. For the described algorithm to work, version 0 is used, or that is the same as 0x0000.
transaction type — 2 bytes, transaction type, for an atomic swap it is sufficient to use only “Simple send” transactions, as simple send is the usual sending of omni currency from its address to the address of the recipient. Simple send corresponds to the transaction type code 0, that is, the next 2 bytes 0x0000. Other possible types of transactions exist in Omni.
token identifier — 4 bytes, identifier of the currency used. For example TetherUS has the identifier 31 or 0x0000001f. All tokens created by the Omni protocol at this time can be seen via the following link.
amount — 8 bytes, for a transaction of type Simple send, this is the amount of the sent currency.
As you can see, payload does not store the addresses of senders and recipients of the transactions, these addresses are determined by the Bitcoin transaction in which the payload output was detected. By scanning inputs, the Omni protocol determines who makes the transfer by finding the output of the corresponding address from among the inputs of the transaction p2pkh.
Thus, for a transfer from Alice to Bob of, for example, 50,000,000 TetherUS, we need to create a Bitcoin transaction where one of the inputs will refer to the p2pkh output corresponding to the Alice address. It is also important that this entry be the first in this transaction (the index of this entry in the received transaction would be is minimal or none at all). One of the outputs of this transaction should be the output of p2pkh to Bob’s address, and another output must have been one of the outputs with the following payload:
https://preview.redd.it/0kmuzds8p9g11.png?width=575&format=png&auto=webp&s=af2f496596684af18091fb044f4e20b7e546c32f
Example 1
Example 2

Atomic Swap on Omni Layer

Suppose that Alice and Bob are willing to make an inter-blockchain exchange of cryptocurrencies. Alice wants to exchange the units of any Omni currency, for example TetherUS (the given currency has the currency identifier # 31 in the Mainnet, then in the text we will only talk about this currency of the Omni protocol, since it is the most popular at the moment, but the algorithm below will work for any currency of the Omni protocol as well) for b units of a cryptocurrency working on another blockchain. (Omni works on top of the Bitcoin blockchain, of course, according to the algorithm below it is possible to exchange TetherUS for Bitcoins, but due to their work on one and the same blockchain, this exchange can be done in a different, more efficient way).

Glossary

A — blockchain of Bitcoin.
B — the blockchain of the cryptocurrency for which TetherUS is being exchanged.
a — the sum of TetherUS, which Alice wants to exchange.
b — the sum of the cryptocurrency of the adjoining blockchain B, to which Alice wants to exchange her a TetherUS.

Creating a Transaction

1) Bob generates a random value secret.
2) Bob calculates the secretHash by performing the following operation: secretHash = RIPEMD160 (secret)
3) Bob creates and sends an htlc transaction sealed by secretHash
4) Bob sends Alice a secretHash value, and a hash of the hrlc transaction he created in the previous paragraph in order for Alice to make sure that the correct htlc transaction is actually present in the B blockchain.
5) Alice received from Bob the secretHash and hash of the htlc-transaction Bob created, and is convinced that such a transaction is really present in the B blockchain, and that this is indeed a htlc-transaction sealed by the secretHash value.
6) using the received secretHash, Alice creates the following transaction and translates it into the Bitcoin blockchain:
https://preview.redd.it/oxri5a7gp9g11.png?width=735&format=png&auto=webp&s=14e88db4fc4d1743406939343d42e33352b05782
Let us call such a transaction financing_tx. In fact, it is almost an ordinary Bitcoin htlc transaction that is used in atomic swap with the only difference that in the amount field, 546 satoshi is the minimum number of Bitcoins that can be at the output of the transaction, below this value, Bitcoin counts the transaction as dust and does not conduct it.
7) Alice creates a transaction according to the following scheme:
https://preview.redd.it/awz9uzuhp9g11.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=9ca79e77ca6aff631a39ae95dfaa70aa06d695ec
Let us call this transaction redeem_tx. Alice creates such a transaction with two inputs: the first is the input referencing the output of funding_tx, which contains the htlc script. Alice does not sign this script, that is, the SigScript field remains completely empty. The second input is the input referring to any unspent exits of Alice, the main condition is that at this output stage there are enough Bitcoins to pay the transaction fee, and this entry is signed by Alice with her private key with the signature type SIGHASH_ALL (that is, she signs the entire transaction except for SigScript fields on the inputs transaction, which makes this transaction immutable. The outputs of the same transaction are the elementary Simple Send and a TetherUS from Alice to Bob (details of what Simple Send, payload is and how it works can be found in another section).
8) Alice sends Bob the redeem_tx created in the previous paragraph and the one she signed herself.
9) Bob got the redeem_tx sent by Alice, checks it, just looks through the inputs and outputs, making sure that this is really a transaction that Alice should have created using the real algorithm. After that, Bob signs the transaction with his private key and provides the secret value in the SigScript of the corresponding redeem_tx entry.
10) Bob sends the signed redeem_tx transaction to the blockchain, thereby transferring the TetherUS currency from Alice to himself. Note — before carrying out this step, we still need to check that Alice’s address has the necessary amount of TetherUS.
11) Alice looks through blockchain A and gets the value secret and uses it in the B blockchain to transfer the funds using the htlc transaction Bob created in point 3. The exchange ends here.
Stating the obvious: naturally the timelock value used by Bob when creating the htlc-transaction must be significantly longer than the timelock that Alice uses, since her htlc transaction should be spent earlier than the htlc created by Bob. This is necessary so that Bob cannot manage to spend both htlc.

Conclusion

Thus, connecting Omni Layer to Swap Online allows users to cover transactions.

A list of upcoming "Bitcoin fork" being promoted for "dividends"

The following comment was removed in /btcfork - not by any moderator afaics so I guess it was automated spam filtering.
But it is an excellent example of how Bitcoin forks are being promoted to further the "dividends" agenda of diluting the importance of hard forks as methods for upgrading Bitcoin, and making them seem to serve no other purpose except money grabs or scams.
This was posted by user "solracor" in a post titled "Próximas Bitcoin Forks 2017 - 2018 - Dados CryptoCurrency".
It is recommended to be very cautious when dealing with these forks, no doubt some of them are outright scams which will try to get people to enter private details and keys on websites to steal their coins.
I am posting this here only for awareness of possible scams.
Get ready for a wave of Bitcoin forks! Bitcoin forks: 12 until early January! Upcoming Bitcoin Forks 2017 - 2018
Without further details, the following Bitcoin forks are planned for 2017 -2018 (we'll add more forks as they are announced and notes how forks occur):
  1. Bitcoin Diamond (BCD) is a fork of Bitcoin that occurs at the predetermined height of block 495866 and therewith a new chain will be generated as the BCD. Bitcoin Diamond miners will begin creating blocks with a new proof-of-work algorithm, and will consecutively develop and enhance the protection for account transfer and privacy based on original features of BTC. This will cause a bifurcation of the Bitcoin blockchain. The original Bitcoin blockchain will continue on unaltered, but a new branch of the blockchain will split off from the original chain. It shares the same transaction history with Bitcoin until it starts branching and coming into a unique block from which it diverges. As a result of this process, a new cryptocurrency was created which we call “Bitcoin Diamond”.
  2. BitcoinX (BCX): an intelligent contract (like Ethereum) based Bitcoin. Block 498888. https://bcx.org/. NOTE: Snapshot has already occurred; Futures are being traded, no currency has been released.
  3. Super Bitcoin (SBTC): like BitcoinX, an intelligent contract based on Bitcoin. Block 498888. http://www.supersmartbitcoin.com/index.html. NOTE: Snapshot has already occurred; Futures are being traded, no currency has been released.
  4. Bitcoin Platinum (BTP): According to the website, "Satoshi's original vision of decentralized electronic money". Around 12 December. Blocks 497757 / 498533. https://bitcoinplatinum.github.io/ko.html TIP: Bitcoin Platinum is rumored to be fake see: Bitcoin Platinum Created by South Korean Teen as a scam, the local market is erupting.
  5. Lightning Bitcoin (LBTC): A fork that is intended to provide "fast lighting fixtures". It uses smart contracts and can host decentralized applications like Ethereum (and Super Bitcoin). On December 23rd. Block 499,999. http://lightningbitcoin.io/
  6. Bitcoin Cash Plus (BCP): according to the website, "fulfilling the original promise of Bitcoin". Around January 2, 2018. Block 501407. http://www.bitcoincashplus.org/
  7. Bitcoin Silver (BTCS): According to a BitcoinTalk forum, the currency aims to "Make Bitcoin Decentralized again". Apparently, it occurs "in December." The site was up, but now it's down. This is not a good omen. https://bitcoinsilver.io/ - then see bitcointalk.org instead - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2311582.0.
  8. Bitcoin Uranium (BUM): According to a BitcoinTalk forum, the currency aims to "Make Bitcoin Great Again." Apparently, it occurs "in December." Https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2316506
  9. God of Bitcoin: Without preminar, it is apparently a Christmas gift from Chinese investor Chandler Guo. Occurs on December 25th. Https://cointelegraph.com/news/forgive-me-father-for-i-have-forked-investor-to-release-bitcoin-god.
  10. Bitcoin Atom (BCA): Bitcoin Atom is a bitcoin fork with segwit enabled with atomic swaps, hybrid consensus and ray network. Exact fork block / date TBA. See: https://bitcoinatom.io/.
  11. UNITEDBITCOIN: LINKING VALUES AND SERVING THE WORLD! The distribution of phase 2 of the UBTC will occur at the time of block # 501878. UNITEDBITCOIN UPGRADES BITCOIN THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF INTELLIGENT CONTRACTS. Bitcoin Labor Testing and Emission Model, with new high speed smart contracts. Future Lightning Network support for faster, more cost-effective transactions. UnitedBitcoin (UBTC) will be allocated to active Bitcoin portfolios at a rate of 1 BTC to 1 UBTC at fork time. Without pre-mining, stable system with fixed reserves in fiduciary currency See: https://www.ub.com/
  12. Bitcoin Interest ("BCI") is a frictionless global payment system that focuses on three main areas of Technology, Community and Savings. Our payment system has a new integrated savings technology that allows our users to park their coins and earn interest. January 22, 2018 at 11:59 PM GMT, or in block 505083. See: https://www.bitcoininterest.io/
To summarize the above and connect some points, Super Bitcoin and BitcoinX are Ethereum competitors (as they use smart contracts like the Ethereum network), Bitcoin Platinum and Bitcoin Cash Plus are basically competitors of Bitcoin Cash (Bitcoin's competitors as currency ), Lightening Bitcoin is a blend of Super Bitcoin / BitcoinX and Bitcoin Platinum / Bitcoin Cash Plus (since both are designed to be competitive as currency and uses smart contracts), and Bitcoin Silver and Bitcoin Uranium are competitors of Bitcoin Gold ( competing for Bitcoin as a valuable store that is profitable for mine), and finally Bitcoin God is a Chandler Guo Christmas gift (simply meant to reward people for having Bitcoin).
This may sound crazy, but if you think about these as user-triggered dividends, it starts to make a little more sense.
To ensure you get your coins from the Bitcoin forks up to the Bitcoin, you are holding: Make sure to be in a Bitcoin wallet that supports the forks (Coinomi multiwallet with over 300 different coins has been good on this), an exchange like Binance with a good record of support forks (Binance supported Bitcoin Cash, Gold, Segwit2x, Diamond and Super Bitcoin and offered futures on the snapshot date or around the date of each snapshot, meanwhile as a user pointed out, hitbtc has been good at supporting forks, Super Bitcoin futures have been traded on hitbtc immediately after the fork, for example), or otherwise being in control of their private keys when forks occur (for example, in a portfolio like Bizcoin Core)!
Unknown. Here are some of the other Bitcoin HF / air drops planned for 2018:
Bitcoin Rubies (BTCRUBBY) https://www.bitcoinruby.io/ ERC20?
Bitcoin Dollars?
Bitcoin Stones?
Bitcoin Script BTCS reborn from the ashes?
Bitcoin Steel?
Bitcoin Razor?
Bitcoin Bronze (BTCB). Symbol: BTCB Decimal: 18 Total supply: 50 million ERC20 Distribution Airdrop rounds Round 1 Airdrop https://bitcoinbronze.io/
Bitcoin Iron?
Bitcoin Atomic (ATOM) Atomic Coin New Blockchain is coming out soon. Let's launch a new chain of Atomic Coin blocks with faster features. Then, deposit your atomic currency for exchange in the Web wallet before 1/1/2018. https://www.atomicproject.org/

THE PROBLEM
In former times, gold was a direct payments means, particularly in the form of gold coins.
However, Gold has continuously been replaced by bank notes, which nowadays are not, or only to a marginal percentage, backed by state-owned gold. Therefore, the value of the bank notes issued by the different countries rely on the trust that the respective country is able to pay its bills. Only this is less sure than in former times. Especially in less developed countries, the trustworthiness of legal tender moves towards zero. THE SOLUTION
THE SOLUTION
The Coin perfectly meets worldwide needs because it is based on gold. Each coin represents a certain weight of gold and can at all times be exchanged into physical gold in the form of CashGold.
Furthermore, it can be exchanged for all fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies worldwide.

WHY A GROWING DEMAND FOR COIN?
WHY A GROWING DEMAND FOR COIN?
The value of the Coin is expected to strongly increase. The market capitalization of the Coin will reflect the billion Euro business that will rely on gold and the gold price based on the CashGold.
The global acceptance and recognition of gold as a safe and secure harbor will make the Coin and the CashGold one of the leading payment means worldwide. Therefore, holders of Coin will not only enjoy protection against inflation and vague governments and economies, but also have the opportunity to participate in the value increase which will be achieved in the future. Such value increase can be realized by everybody through the sale of the Coin, or through the purchase of goods and services.
The Coins will be available on major cryptocurrency exchange platforms such as Poloniex, Bithumb, Bitfinex, Bittrex, etc. The coins will be permitted to float and be traded p2p. The price of the Coin will be determined by market forces and cryptocurrency exchange mechanisms, as well as by the global gold prices. The value of the Coin will reflect the degree of penetration of the worldwide payment systems and, to a substantial extent, the price development of pure gold. The more Coin will be used – thus driving customer adoption – the greater the demand for the Coin will be. The popularity of the Coin and the Ecosystems will most probably grow very fast. Gold, in the form of gold coins and gold bullions, has served as international payment means as well as solid investments for more than 4,000 years. Although legal currencies presently are not backed by gold, gold reserves still serve many central banks in the world as a currency reserve.
Private and institutional investors invest in gold. In times of economic crises, gold is deemed to be a stable investment with the potential to a value increase in comparison to other investments.
The intrinsic value of gold is caused by its relative rarity as well as by the high cost of mining. This may also be the reason why investments in gold, unlike e.g. investments in interest-bearing securities, do not have default risk.
However, gold coins are not used for payment anymore, and it is not feasible or practical to hold and pay with gold in the traditional form.
The new alternative is the CashGold. It is reliable, globally available, secure, practical in use, and compatible with other payment means.
The idea behind CashGold is to implement small gold bars on a specific paper which partially looks like a bank note. However, instead of mentioning a specific currency amount, the weight of the implemented gold bar is displayed. ABOUT THE VISIONAIR

He is also the author of the successful book 'The Future of Money', published in 2017 and available everywhere.
In his book he outlines the history of money and the methods of payment; describes what factors are dependent on trust in money and hard cash; how these factors influence the economic and monetary policy frameworks, where the risks of the past and present payment methods and systems lie. He also introduces a few (for some of us possibly exotic) methods of payment and tries to answer the question of what would happen in the case of an IT blackout or cyber-attack – and how we would be able to get by and pay for the essentials – for example, in the form of gold and crypto currencies. The book's jacket text: Never before in times of peace has the subject of money evoked the uncertainty it does today. Although, we live in affluence here in Germany, many people begin to ask themselves whether the value of our money is dwindling away. Cash seems permanently under attack as the media bombards us with theories on the 'End of Cash'.
Concerns about the future of money are not without basis: in many countries, massive restrictions on the use of cash have now become a reality, with India at the forefront. Overnight, 86 percent of their rupee reserves were removed from circulation and declared worthless - is cash in the euro zone next?
What is the future of money - a means of exchange, anonymous payment or an opportunity to hoard wealth? How will we pay in the future? What forms will digitization open up to us? And what forms could be forced on us by the state or circumstances, such as a crisis or catastrophe? Are you prepared if ATMs or online banking no longer function?
