Bitcoin Bashing I came across with a tweet that ‘Pierre Rochard’ had posted on Jan 24, 2019. It got my attention when I read Mr. Rochard claimed ‘‘Susan Athey’ (the board member of Ripple and Stanford economist) was bribed by Ripple to promote false information about Bitcoin. He shared this info with a screenshot that ‘Prof. Athey blocked him’ on Twitter social media. In Rochard’s Twitter post, he exposes Susan Athey, who is a board member of Ripple and an economist and professor at Stanford, claiming that she has been promoting false information about Bitcoin as a result of bribery from Ripple. After being blocked on Twitter by Athey, he posted a screenshot to prove her actions against him specifically, adding, “Corrupt academia is in full crisis mode.” — Susan Athey (@Susan_Athey) February 24, 2019. Athey also provided slides used for the lecture, as proof that she did not misrepresent Bitcoin, although the slides to show that Brown’s accusations of the lecturer praising XRP are correct. Athey also used the example of a Mexican Company called Caullix to explain Ripple Labs’ product, xRapid.
